So many questions …
Kids ask a lot of questions. Some of them are very practical, others are more philosophical.
- Where does money come from?
- How I can get some?
- Why are some things free and some things expensive?
- How much money do we need to be happy?
- Who makes coins and bank notes?

The book touches on all these questions and many more. It encourages children to keep asking questions. It prompts them to reflect on the relationship between money, happiness and impact. Because only through questioning, rather than accepting things at face value, can they re-invent the role of money in their lives and in the world.

Meet the characters
Join Nora and Kiko as they time travel and discover the many connections between money, impact and responsibility.
Nora
Nora is a curious little girl who stumbles upon a treasure and wonders what she could do it. She is full of creative ideas, slightly impulsive and always up for an adventure. She loves to experiment, learn new things and is not afraid to make mistakes.
Kiko
Kiko is a wise little mouse who also happens to be an expert in treasure management. He is on a mission to show Nora that there are many ways to use her money and that every decision has a lot of consequences, some of which are not always obvious at first.
Maminou
Maminou is pretty zen but she knows that her grand-daughter is growing up in a complex world and could use some help to explore her options and develop her own internal compass. She also believes the best way to shape the future is to understand your special powers.

About the book
A few years ago, my children started asking me questions about money. I looked for a children’s book on the topic and was surprised to realise that there were hardly any that explained basic concepts of money management within the boarder context of personal well-being, happiness and impact. So I decided to write one.
I created a short story featuring a little girl who finds a treasure and tries to figure out how best to use it. She meets a magical creature who takes her on a journey to try out different options: saving, spending, donating, investing. Along the way they come across a sleepy pig, talk to a banker, visit a derelict school and even start their own slime business. With each encounter they see how her choices play out, what happens to the money, how she feels and how her decisions affect others.
Armed with my story “Nora’s Treasure” I set out to look for a publisher. I was lucky to meet the team at HELVETIQ who shared my vision. They even wanted to go further. “We need a book that demystifies the role of money in the world” they said. Fast forward two years and the award-winning book “Your Money and the World” was born.

Let’s go back to basics !

Money is part of our everyday lives and yet it can feel very abstract. With everything going digital, money has become virtually invisible, making it even more challenging for children to understand some key concepts related to how money flows and how to manage it wisely. In a fun and relatable way, the book seeks to explain:
- Why money is a mean to an end, rather than an end in itself
- The difference between creating value and printing money
- The magic of compounding and the importance of long-term thinking
- The difference between speculating and investing
- How we can consume less, share more, waste less, and still be happy
